Milner Library website
Below are some links to common uses for the library website:
- Article Database Search: this site will allow you to search for articles relating to your discipline or by article type. From here you can also use the navigation bar to search for books and other materials.
- e-Journal Search: here you can search for journals by title or subject to find whether or not the journal you are interested in is housed in Milner's e-journal library. If you know what article you are looking for or what journal it comes from, this is an excellent resource to quickly find your journal article.
- Citation Linker: This search tool allows you to search for known articles where you have all the necessary information for the article, including journal title, date, volume, issue, page numbers, title, etc.
- How to Borrow Materials: This website gives you the basic information on borrowing policies at Milner Library and how to renew materials.
- Interlibrary Loan: If a book or article is not available at Milner Library, you can request an interlibrary loan at this website.
- Storage Retreival: Occasionally, books or articles are housed in the basement and need to be retreived from storage. This site explains how to go about that process.
- Dissertation and Thesis Search: This website allows you to search for dissertations and theses that have been published at ISU and at other universities.
- Citation Reference Tools: This site provides information on how to manage your references when conducting research on specific topics. Refworks and Endnote both help organize citations and prepare bibliographies and are offered free to ISU students, faculty, and staff.
- Subject Guides: These links connect you to the materials related specifically to a given discipline. For example, I could go to the Chemistry link and find all journals, articles, etc. related to chemistry only.
- Suject Specialist: This link provides the subject specialist related to your area of study. This person is your first contact when trying to find information through the library. The subject librarian's job is to find resources relating to your topic or discipline.
- Copyright Information: This link will provide many resources on copyright information, fair use, and other questions relating to copyright. If you have a question, you can submit it to the copyright committee from this page.
